HD Radio Host
Steve Mears is in his fourth season as a member of the Penguins Radio Network team. In addition to his work on the Penguins' radio and TV game broadcasts, he serves as the host of "Penguins Live" on Pittsburgh Penguins 24/7 Radio, and is also a contributor to PensTV on the official team website.

Mears came to the Penguins in September, 2009 after spending three seasons as the radio play-by-play voice of the New York Islanders. Prior to his time in New York, he spent four seasons as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League. In 2005, he was named "CHL Broadcaster of the Year." In addition to his radio work, he has also done various game broadcasts for Leafs TV and MSG television networks.

A graduate of Franklin Regional High School, Mears grew up in Murrysville, PA and earned a degree in broadcasting from Bowling Green State University in 2002 while serving as the play-by-play voice of the BGSU Falcons.

He currently resides in Pittsburgh.
