Assistant General Manager

  • Promoted to assistant general manager on June 6, 2014
  • Spent the previous 5 seasons as the Penguins assistant to the GM from 2009-14
  • Monitors Penguins’ prospects playing in college, junior hockey, Europe and with the club’s American Hockey League affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
  • Advises GM Jim Rutherford on personnel decisions
  • Named interim assistant coach of the Penguins on Feb. 15, 2009 and helped club win its 3rd Stanley Cup championship 4 months later
  • Began his executive career as the Penguins player development coach in 2007-08
  • Played 17 seasons in the NHL, appearing in 1,097 career games
  • Was a 1st-round draft pick (17th overall) of the New York Islanders in 1986
  • Suited up for the NY Islanders, Florida, Colorado, Nashville, Chicago, Toronto and Boston
  • Recorded 329 career NHL points (139G-190A) and 776 penalty minutes
  • Reached the Stanley Cup Final with Florida in 1996
  • Captain of the Nashville Predators the first 4 years of their existence
  • Played for Team USA at the 1987 World Junior Championship and in 2 World Championships (1989, ’91)
